Premium Web-host Service (PWS) Outage

On the Morning of Thursday, May 1st, 2008, customers who's domains are hosted through LavaNet's Premium Web-hosting Service (PWS) may have experienced outages or intermittent problems between 8:45AM - 9:20AM due to an overloaded web-server. The problem has since been resolved

Dialup Problem (Resolved)

On the morning of Saturday April 19, 2008, at approximately 11:30am LavaNet dial up customers were unable to make connections to our modem bank. The problem was tracked down to faulty equipment at our telephone service provider. We were able to work with our vendor to correct the problem. Full dial up services were restored shortly after 2:30pm on the same day. We apologize for the unannounced outage.

Update: Mail Server Problems FIXED - Monday, 11/26/07

Update: The mail server that has been experiencing problems has been fixed approximately around 4:45pm this afternoon. Again our apologies for the inconveniences you have experienced during the downtime.

Co-location service network problems

Starting Sunday, November 4th at approximately 9 a.m., the network for co-location services started exhibiting intermittent periods of high packet loss. The problem was corrected at approximately 9 a.m. on November 5th. These spot outages only affected the co-location services at LavaNet, and did not affect any other services. We are still investigating the problem and ways to mitigate it in the future.

Potential for mail delays

Occasionally LavaNet's mail server has been under high load recently, causing slow access and mail delays for customers when checking mail. This includes POP, IMAP, and web mail access. We have been monitoring the situation and have been taking steps to diffuse the situation. We are also working on a longer term solution to fix the situation permanently.

Email Service Problems

A problem with our main mailbox server caused a disruption in service starting at 5:30 AM on the morning of May 25, 2007. The issue would have prevented customers from checking their LavaNet mailboxes. The problem was resolved and service restored shortly after 7:00 AM. We apologize for the unexpected outage.

Dial Up Access Outage (Resolved)

There was a temporary outage of LavaNet dial up service on the morning of May 7, 2007. Reports of problems came into our support call center at about 8:30 AM. Service was restored around 9:30 AM. In some cases, customer computers may have "forgotten" stored passwords. These customers may still receive "Authentication failed" messages. If you are still experiencing problems, please try re-entering your LavaNet password into your dial up software. If you need assistance with this please contact our technical support staff at 808-545-7205. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience.

Website Hosting Technical Difficulties: Saturday, March 31

Some of you may be experiencing difficulties viewing your website and accessing your WebOS control panel. Our partners at Hostopia are experiencing some technical difficulties and are working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience and will update the status of the situation as soon as possible.

Email Delays

Our incoming mail servers stopped accepting mail shortly after midnight on the morning of Thursday Jan 18, 2007. The problem was corrected around 8:00AM of the same day. Email bound for our system during those hours would have received a temporary delay error. This means mail sent to us should be delayed rather than bounced back to the original sender. To address future outages, we have already settled on a plan for an early detection system that will alert us to problems sooner.

UPDATE: the mail is flowing smoothly again as of about 10:30 am.

Mailing Lists Offline

We are currently experiencing problems with equipment used to provide mailing list service. LavaNet hosted mailing lists stopped accepting new messages shortly after 3:30PM on Tuesday, December 18, 2006. Incoming mail intended for LavaNet hosted mailing lists will be delayed until the problem can be fixed. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Further updates will be posted here.
