This page describes how to Configure Mac OS 7.6 - 9.2 TCP/IP for DSL via Static IP
Prerequisite: You will need to have a properly installed and working Network Interface Card (NIC).
- Double click on Macintosh HD.
- Double click on System Folder.
- Double click the Control Panel.
Open TCP/IP
- Double click the TCP/IP Control Panel.
- In the "Connect Via" field, select "Ethernet".
- In the "Configure field" select "Manually".
- Enter your IP address in the "IP Address" field.
- Enter your subnet mask in the "Subnet mask" field.
- Enter your gateway address in the "Router address" field.
Note: If you do not have the following information or need assitance please call our technical support
- Enter the following numbers in the "Name Server Address" box:
- Type lava.net into the "Additional Search domains" field
- Close the TCP/IP window.
- A message will pop up: "Save changes to the current configuration?".
- Select "Save".
- Close all the other windows.
- You have completed configuring your Mac to use DSL for LavaNet!
- Click on the "Special" menu and select "Restart".
- After your mac has restarted, your Internet applications such as email and your web browser should be able to access the Internet automatically.
