UPDATE 5-13-08: Mail sent to hotmail.com, msn.com, microsoft.com appears to be delivered with testing. Emails that had delivery failures over the weekend may need to be resent.
This email is a warning to be aware of any 'phishing' emails you may receive
that appears to come from LavaNet. These emails will ask you to reply and
verify/confirm account information. These emails are not from LavaNet, and
should be deleted.
Note that the real LavaNet team will never ask for account information over
email. If by chance you did reply with your account password, please change
your password as soon as possible by visiting this link:
https://secure.lava.net
For added security, please type it in manually into your browser instead of
clicking on it.

Recently a LavaNet email account was compromised because of an
easily-guessable password or a reply to a phishing email and was used to
send out spam. Consequently, mail from lava.net has been temporarily
blocked by hotmail.com, msn.com, and microsoft.com. We are working to

Phishing emails appears to be from a well-known and trusted company is sent to a large list of email addresses. The email may direct the recipient to a fraud Web page, where he or she is asked to reply with personal information that may result in identity theft. Below is a sample of a 'phishing' email:
